The State Office of Special Education has the responsibility for ensuring that children with Disabilities receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). The State Office of Special Education staff provide training, technical assistance and monitoring activities of special education services provided by public schools and state operated programs. The Office is also responsible for managing the flow of federal dollars for special education programs.

We support schools in their efforts to adopt exemplary teaching practices that lead to improved teaching and learning experience for children with disabilities.
